get_things_by_sql queries should select *, not just ID.
...
By passing the ids into get_things_by_id which checks the cache first
before querying the rest, any orderby statements in the query would
effectively become useless.

Previously, the whole walk tree was returned. This can be convenient
because you get the whole descendant tree all at once, but it's
unusual since all the other individual .json endpoints only return a
single object, not a list.
